Recently updating as of 10/31/17. Just found out that my old personal training session did not roll over when Gold's switched from National Fitness to Paramount Acceptance Group. So, they're willing to take the money from one finance company, but aren't willing to give you your sessions you are/were paying for.

When signing up for any Personal Training Sessions, please make sure that you read the "Fine Print". I signed up for 12 months worth of Personal Training Sessions at a cost of $100.00 per month. After my 12 months was up, I noticed that my monthly fee was still being drafted. I called the gym and was told by the gym Manager that I needed to submit a 30 day cancellation notice to a third party collector. The 3rd party collector stated that in the "Fine Print" on my gym contract, it states that at the end of my 12 month contract, the contract would then continue on a month-to-month until I submit a 30 day cancellation notice. The Manager of the gym notified me when my gym membership was going to expire but never told me that I would need to cancel the Personal Training Sessions. Out $300.00 "OUCH"!!! Be Very Careful!!!

This is a good gym, in my experience.

I stopped here recently, on a day pass while traveling through Shallotte, and everything was great. The building was attractive and nicely furnished, with lots of parking. Likewise, the gym was clean and comfortable, and stocked with a full range of modern, well-maintained equipment (machines, racks, free weights, cardio, plus a fully stocked stretching/aerobics room -- the works). The staff, too, were pleasing, being helpful and friendly. Finally, the men's locker room was also clean and cared-for (showers were on offer, as well).

Beyond that, equipment takes a week or two to be repaired. The only new equipment that has been replaced are the dumbbells, bosu balls, and floor mats. It's poorly run. The positives, the front desk, it's clean, and the personal trainer. Other than that, totally not worth the hassle of dealing with the "management."

Big thanks to everyone at this gym, for providing me a place to exercise and unwind while on the road. Keep up the good work :-)

A bit of an attitude while explaining the need for a local driver’s license in order to use the 5-day pass. I literally just moved here. Planning to frequent a different gym in the future, the equipment is not worth $12/day and I’m glad I had this experience before committing.

this gym will make you really sore. not physically but mentally. The water fountain is warm and has the distinct taste of GEN-X in it. Stuff is always broken which makes me wonder why we are paying every 6 months to get new equipment.

In the end, I had a good workout, without any problems, and I'd have no problem dropping in a second time.
